The music of sound
A while back, Claire and I borrowed The Sound of Music on DVD from the public library. Claire affectionately called it The Music of Sound sometimes. I was surprised then at how much she enjoyed it, so I purchased it recently when it was on sale. This has been one of her top requested movies ever since. As we were watching it this afternoon during her rest time, I couldn't help but think about watching this when I was growing up. Almost every trip to my grandparents' house, we would pop in one of the two VHS tapes (yes, it's that long!) and we'd sing and dance along. We watched it so many times that I am honestly surprised the tape didn't wear out. I find myself still singing and dancing, but now it's with my daughter. The scenery, the love story and the music are just timeless! I am thankful there are still a few things around from my childhood worth sharing with my children!
